Sea lions

I was very curious to see the sea lions in the Fisherman's Wharf. I wandered around trying to find them , but when you get close you can't miss them: the sounds they make are easy to follow ;-)

I'm currently in San Francisco attending the Molecular Medicine Triconference 2012, to which I was invited to speak.
Today after the talks I had some time to do the first visit. San Francisco is , so far, the most european of the American cities I've visited. Although it is a big city, The people seem much more relaxed and friendly than in New York!
Basically since I had only a few hours left of sunlight went down Market St until I reached the bay and had the opportunity to appreciate the architecture and skyscrapers. The Vitorian style of some buildings reminds me of some I saw in Sydney. Here are some pictures of the buildings:

Sorry for having skiping the Scotland report but never found the time to compile the photos...

Sorry for the absence of posts....

....but the 3G coverage was really bad in the Highlands and we were too tired at night to write the blog posts.

However, Starting tomorrow I'll do a day by day report, where you will get our opinions of Scotland and several pictures of the amazing scenery that it present us with.

I can promise you several photos of the wildlife including deers, sheeps and the famous angus cows. And of couse lots of Lochs, Castles and Abbeys ;)

Off to Edimburgh

So we finally have another excuse to extend our blog :-) This time our destination is Scotland, land of whisky, lochs and haggis

The first good sign for this trip can be seem in the next photo!




Gate 42! Lets see if it is indeed the answer for life, the universe and everything ( with everything including a nice one week trip!)





This is our travel group this time. We took the oportunitty to jump on Diogo and Joana's visit to Scotland and we will rent a car after spending a couple of days in Edinburgh!

Edit: we safely arrived at Cairn hotel and we are already using the free wi-fi to finish this post.
